Madeleine Kopp is currently the Sales Operations Manager at Stress Engineering Services, providing engineering expertise and technical services to a variety of industries including oil & gas, plastics and packaging, plant services, medical, and pharmaceutical. She holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering and has been involved in the energy industry for over 10 years.

Madeleine volunteers her time with ASME in many capacities, including as Vice Chair of the ASME Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) Programming Committee, Chair of the Northwest Houston Subsection, past Chair of the Petroleum Division Early Career Committee, Member of the Verification and Validation of Computational Modeling in Energy Systems Codes and Standards Committee (V&V 60), and has been on the ASME ACES organizing committee since 2019.

Dr. Reza Baghaei Lakeh serves an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Before joining Cal Poly Pomona, Dr. Lakeh was a post-doctoral fellow in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He received his PhD from Southern Illinois University in 2012. Dr. Lakeh is an expert in the area of Renewable Energy Systems, Energy Storage, and Thermal-Fluid Science and has published more than 50 papers in prestigious peer-reviewed technical journals and conference proceedings. He is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) and has served as General Chair and Technical Chair in ASME’s Energy Sustainability Conference. Dr. Lakeh has secured more than $650K of grant for research and scholarly activities at Cal Poly Pomona from State and Federal Agencies. His research groups always welcome enthusiastic and self-motivating students.

 

Brian Wodka

Brian is currently the Division Manager of RMF's York, Pennsylvania Office. He has spent his entire career involved in steam systems and power plant engineering, inspection, operation, commissioning, reliability, and forensic analysis. He has published multiple technical papers and articles as a subject matter expert on power plant performance and reliability.

Brian earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine (Mechanical) Engineering from SUNY Maritime College and a Master of Science in Thermo-Fluid Mechanics from The Johns Hopkins University. He is a licensed professional engineer, a Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA), a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He is a Commissioned Boiler Inspector through the NBBI and holds a Maryland first grade stationary engineer (plant operator's) license. For the past 10 years, he sits on both the Maryland Board of Boiler Rules and the Maryland Board of Stationary Engineers. He is the current Secretary/Treasurer of the Executive Committee of ASME's Power Division. He vice-chairs the ASME RAP Committee on power plant performance and chairs the RAM Sub-Committee on power plant reliability, availability, and maintainability.

 

Tim Allison

Dr. Tim Allison is the Machinery Department Director at Southwest Research Institute® where he leads an organization that focuses on R&D for the energy industry. His research experience includes analysis, fabrication, and testing of turbomachinery and systems for advanced power or oil & gas applications including high-pressure turbomachinery, centrifugal compressors, expanders, gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, and test rigs for bearings, seals, blade dynamics, and aerodynamic performance. Dr. Allison holds two patents, has authored four book chapters and co-edited two books, and has published over 79 articles on various turbomachinery topics. He received the best tutorial/paper awards from the ASME Oil & Gas and Supercritical CO2 Power Cycle Committees in 2010, 2014, 2015, and 2018. He is a past chairman of the ASME Oil & Gas Applications Committee, past and current co-chair for the Thermal- Chemical-Mechanical Energy Storage Workshop, a member of the Supercritical CO2 Symposium Planning Committee, and an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines & Power.

 

John Brushwood

John is currently the General Manager of Turbopower International, in Jacksonville Florida. His career spans over 45 years in the power generation industry performing design, operations, research and development, maintenance of power plants and gas turbine development. John has published dozens of technical papers on renewable energy, power plant equipment improvements, combustion enhancement, water treatment, process controls and forensics.

He is an active member of ASME and IGTI, having chaired multiple ASME committees and forums. As a licensed professional engineer for over 35 years, John has contributed his expertise to improve the performance of combined cycle power plants in over 14 countries and the USA.

 

Doreen Chin

Dr. Doreen Chin is the President of Yunka Energy. She held a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of Houston.

Doreen had been a power plant operator, researcher, professor, engineer, oil field operator, leader, and entrepreneur, with over 35 years of experience in academia, power generation, and oil and gas industries, including long history for Shell and service companies – from deepwater offshore/subsea engineering/flow assurance to onshore shale oil and gas production operations. Doreen is serving as Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) Board Member, and Engineering Leadership Board Member, University of Houston. She had served as ASME Petroleum Division Chair (2017-2018); OTC 2014 Program Committee Chair; ASME 2014 Hydraulic Fracturing Conference Chair, ASME 2018 and 2019 Offshore Wind Summit Advisory Committee Member and ASME 2019 Advanced Clean Energy Summit Program Committee Chair.

Doreen has published one technical book and 51 papers. She has received several SPE Awards (2014, 2019, 2020), and several ASME Awards including three Best Paper Awards (2001, 2004, 2011).

Buddila is currently working as a research assistant focusing on an energy project with the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and as a project and design engineer (On a project basis) with a local HVAC manufacturer in Sri Lanka. He hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering with an MS in Renewable and Sustainable Energy technologies from two UK universities. He is also working on a clean energy project focusing on the Sri Lankan rural communities as well. Buddila has been a member of ASME since 2015.
