Welcome from the OMAE 2025 Technical Programme Chair
Welcome to the 44th Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering Conference (OMAE) in Vancouver, Canada, hosted by the OOAE Division of ASME. OMAE provides a platform for academia, industry and other shareholders to present, absorb and discuss scientific papers. Therewith we seek to support developments of ideas and pathways for practical applications for a smart, sustainable, and safe use of oceans.
We seek to encourage you, the valued authors, to address the mitigation of an adaptation to climate change in all its facets and topics. In this regard and in addition to our traditionally and well established symposia we open two new special topics / special symposia:
- Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion
- Smart & Sustainable Maritime Systems
Both are recent and fast developing fields and contribute directly to the global goals of sustainability and environmental protection, while using edge cutting research and technology.
We would also like to bring to your attention the honoring Symposium for Professor Calisal for his achievements in marine hydrodynamics, ocean energy, and education. Please join this special one to share your findings:
- Symposium 15: Prof. Sander Calisal Honoring Symposium in Hydrodynamics, Tidal Energy, Ship Design and Education
Therewith we seek to acknowledge new developments and topics that shape the future of both the maritime world and OMAE.
I am looking forward to seeing you and your exciting contributions at OMAE in Vancouver!
