Student Paper Competition
POWER2020 offers students an opportunity to present a technical paper on issues affecting the electric power generation industry today.
If you’re interested in advancing your career, submit an abstract for the chance to:
- Present your paper and gain valuable insight and feedback to improve your research
- Be published in ASME proceedings
- Begin a lifelong relationship with ASME and the Power Division
Winners receive a cash award of up to $3,000 USD!
1st place: $3,000 USD, plus reimbursement of expenses per ASME policy and an award plaque
2nd place: $2,000 USD, plus a certificate of recognition
3rd place: $1,000 USD, plus a certificate of recognition
Students who enter the paper competition receive complimentary conference registration and lodging; a ticket to the awards banquet; and the chance to network with professional engineers.

Additional Student Activities
Panel Session – Invited speakers will present and discuss industry topics. This session is exclusively for students!
Student Mixer – Join the Power Executive Committee for fun and dinner on Tuesday, August 4.
Awards Banquet – Student winners will be announced at the banquet Wednesday, August 5.
