The 46th Annual Review of Progress in Quantitative Nondestructive Evaluation Conference (QNDE) takes place July 14–18, 2019, at the Red Lion Hotel on the River Jantzen Beach, Portland, OR. You are invited to participate in this conference, and a collocated short course/workshop on “NDE Performance: imaging, sizing and POD” sponsored by the World Federation of Nondestructive Evaluation Centers (WFNDEC), to be held July 13–14 2019. Online reservations in the conference block will be available.
These events will focus on current, state-of-the-art research and opportunities in this growing and demanding field. QNDE is the premiere international NDE meeting designed to provide an interface between research and early engineering through the presentation of current ideas and results focused on facilitating a rapid transfer to engineering development, bringing these technologies to the attention of researchers and users in national laboratories, industry and academia, including graduate students.
The annual QNDE Conference is hosted by QNDE Programs, and this year it is organized through teaming with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), more specifically the Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnostics and Prognostics (NDPD) Division and in partnership with the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE), at Iowa State University. The changes in organization include the establishment of a new meeting steering committee. Paper selection will be performed on the basis of review of three page extended abstracts — new this year. Accepted abstracts will be published electronically. With changes in the organization and review process abstracts will be due April 1st, 2019. As with prior years there will be keynotes, special oral sessions and contributed oral and poster sessions, together with a student poster competition and table top exhibition.
This year’s keynote speakers are:
- Prof. Ajit Mal (UCLA, USA)
- Prof. Bruce Drinkwater (Bristol, UK)
- Prof. Xiuming Wang (IOA, Beijing, China)
In place of a full proceedings selected papers will be published in a special issues of ASME Transactions, Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnostics and Prognostics of Engineering Systems, where full papers will be fully peer reviewed.
