Don't miss the opportunity to visit NREL's National Wind Technology Center.

NREL's Flatirons Campus is 315-acre campus that was originally founded in the late 1970's as a wind technology test site. On the tour we will discuss the following areas of research:

Wind technology, solar power, water power (including off-shore wind, wave energy, and marine energy), integrated energy systems, battery storage, wind blade recycling, structural blade testing, dynamometer testing, hydrogen production, grid simulation and emulation, and digital real time simulation.

Facilities include:

  • The Controllable Grid Interface
  • Grid Test Pad
  • Composite Manufacturing and Education Facility
  • 5mw Dynomometer

**Please be aware that any non-us citizens wanting to attend the tour will need to have additional paperwork completed at least 30 days in advance. ASME will share your name and contact information with the facility for security clearance.

A government-issued photo identification (for example driver's license, passport, or military ID) will be required for all attendees before entering the site.

The tour is limited to 40 people. First-come, first-served.
