Dear ASME volunteers and other registered participants,
As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be a global issue, ASME is monitoring developments on a daily basis, including recommended guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Our primary concern is the health and safety of those who attend our conferences and meetings.
In an effort to ensure the safety of all, ASME has decided to make significant changes to how the September ASME B31 Code Week is convened. There will be no face-to-face ASME B31 committee meetings at the Hilton Long Beach. However, ASME will conduct and provide the necessary support for virtual meetings of the various committees that normally convene.
ASME Standards and Certification staff will be in touch with the leadership of their respective committees to begin planning alternative meeting arrangements. Additionally, detailed announcements of plans for all meetings will be forthcoming from ASME staff to all volunteers. Please feel free to contact ASME Standards and Certification staff with questions regarding those when they become available.
Please note that the Hilton Long Beach has cancelled all existing sleeping room reservations associated with the event. Anyone with reservations at other hotels, or outside of the ASME room block should cancel your reservation directly.
Thank you for your continued support of ASME.
