
Joe Remic
NuScale
Graduated from University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology in 2003. Graduated from Ohio State University with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2005. Worked at Westinghouse Electric Company in the Engineering Services Division from 2005 to 2019.
During the time at Westinghouse, Joe supported design and analysis activities for reactor pressure vessels, reaction internals, primary equipment supports, steam generators, reactor pressure vessel head replacements – including design an analysis of simplified head assemblies, for operating PWRs and the AP1000
Joe joined NuScale in 2019 in a managerial role of the team responsible for all ASME Code qualifications of Nuclear Steam Supply System components of the NuScale Power Module. He transitioned to managerial roles over numerous NSSS ASME Design and Analysis regions within NuScale until 2024. In the middle of 2024, he was promoted to Senior Manager of NSSS Component Engineering, his department is responsible for ASME design and analysis activities for the reactor pressure vessel, reactor vessel internals, steam generator, and containment vessel; these components represent over 87% of the mass of the NuScale Power Module.
