
Li Shi

Li Shi is a digital and cyber security professional engineer with over 23 years of experience in digital design, cyber security, verification, and validation, operations research, risk and reliability analysis, and quality assurance for commercial nuclear power plants. Li holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license in electronics, control, and communications from Georgia and is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
Li holds an M.S. in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering, and an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, and a B.E. in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua University.
Currently, Li is the Lead Operations Cybersecurity Analyst at Duke Energy, overseeing the cyber security plan for the Duke Nuclear Fleet. In this role, Li chairs the Cyber Security Review Meetings, assessing and approving cyber security defensive architecture and strategies. Li has held various significant roles at Duke Energy, GE Hitachi Nuclear, Altran Solutions, and AREVA NP, demonstrating leadership in developing digital I&C designs and implementing cyber security controls, performing verification and validation, and leading cross-functional teams. Li's leadership achievements include leading cross-function and multi-national teams on time delivery of large nuclear digital projects to domestic and international customers with high quality and achieving zero findings during inspection and audits.
Li's technical contributions include several publications on software requirements tracing and probabilistic risk assessments of digital I&C systems in nuclear power plants.
