Dr. Columbia Mishra is a Systems Engineering Manager at Maxar Technologies, overseeing 4 commercial satellite programs. With over 17 years of industry and research experience, Dr. Mishra is a technical leader in developing next-generation spacecraft for a range of missions, including NASA's Artemis Mission to the Moon and proliferated Low Earth Orbit satellites.

Prior to the space industry, Columbia worked in varied capacities in diverse technology sectors, including Intel Corporation, Apple Inc, Stress Engineering Services, Makino Asia in Singapore, and Tata Motors in India. Dr. Mishra has a deep knowledge of thermal fluids systems, consumer electronics and spacecraft engineering. Her research has been published in journals such as Nature Materials, Journal of Fluid Mechanics. She holds 5 patents pending, 2 granted for her work in thermal architecture and innovation in electronic systems.

Columbia is highly involved with the technical community and served on the CTO Technology Advisory Council of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering. Dr. Mishra is an active volunteer with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) where she serves on the Technical and Engineering Communities overseeing 36 technical divisions. Columbia is a recipient of numerous awards including the ASME 2020 Lakshmi Singh Early Career Leadership and the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship. Dr. Mishra is a distinguished speaker and have spoken globally at several forums.

Columbia holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, her M.S. from Texas Tech and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University. In 2022 Dr. Mishra was inducted into the Mechanical Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni at UT Austin for her contributions to the field of Mechanical Engineering.

Simon Pun

Simon Pun, FE, MS. Director of Materials and Process Engineering
Divergent Technologies

Inspired by the art and science of next-generation materials, Simon has pursued a career in the crossroad of materials science and mechanical engineering. He is currently the Director of Materials and Process Engineering at Divergent Technologies where he leads a team of engineers and scientists to develop innovative metal alloys and process parameters for additive manufacturing of ground and air vehicle structure applications. Simon holds more than 10 patents in materials engineering and has received early career awards from engineering societies such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and American Society for Materials. Simon began his career at the 3M Company as a Research Associate focused on Binder Jetting Technology. He later joined Aerojet Rocketdyne as a Materials and Processing Engineer to work on the AR1 booster engine program supporting U.S. Air Force and on the RS-25 engine program supporting NASA’s Space Launch System. Simon received his B.S. with dual majors in materials science and aerospace engineering, and M.S. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of California, Irvine. He has obtained Fundamental Engineer credential in the State of California and is on his way of pursuing a Professional Engineer license in the Metallurgical and Materials discipline. Simon continues to publish in research journals and is currently in collaboration with research institutions in the U.S.

Simon is a member of the ASM (American Society for Materials) Emerging Technology Awareness Committee and of the TMS (Minerals, Metals & Materials Society) Young Professional Committee. He has also served in the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and SAMPE (Society for Advancement of Material and Process Engineering) Technology Advisory Panel.
