Chris Wax is a Principal Technical Leader at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). His research activities focus on development of Reliability and Integrity Management Programs for the advanced reactor fleet. Previously, as a staff member of the EPRI Materials Reliability Program, his research responsibilities included nickel-base alloy management, including primary water stress corrosion cracking testing, inspection optimization, mitigation, and repair techniques. He was also the primary project manager tasked with coordinating the Material Reliability Program (MRP) Pressure Boundary Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) activities. Wax is active in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section XI Code Committees.

Prior to joining the EPRI team in February 2020, Wax held multiple roles at the Palo Verde Generating Station. Positions held included a supervisory role overseeing the Component Programs organization, the Boric Acid Corrosion Control Program Owner, and Primary System Materials Integrity Program Owner. A function of his roles included active engagement in the EPRI Internals and Inspection TAC, Pressure Boundary TAC, and Inspection TAC. Wax was the Chairman of the Pressurized Water Reactor Materials Committee from 2017–2019 where he provided direction to materials-related projects to support industry needs.
