What is the GLDC?
The Group Leadership Development Conference (GLDC) is an event created to provide an opportunity for volunteer group leaders to learn and develop in their roles within ASME and professionally in a collegial and fun environment. The event will provide opportunities to learn more about successfully managing and proactively working within groups; while providing time to meet and network with peers. During the event, attendees will be provided with a more comprehensive overview of the ASME strategy and an enhanced awareness of how the plan will affect the groups and the overall organization. By the end of the weekend, attendees will have a better understanding of the overall organization, the volunteer and staff partnership, assessing and providing successful activities for their group’s membership, working within the ASME strategy, and the importance of volunteer leaders and all groups to ASME.
One volunteer leader from each of the official ASME groups will be invited to attend at the expense of ASME. Additional participants are welcome to attend, however, expenses will need to be paid using group funds or outside resources.
Invited Group Leadership Volunteers:
- Old Guard Committee
- Research Committees
