Biography: Sebastián Bohórquez Quintero is Business Driver for Digital Learning and Global Education Projects (GEP) for South America at Festo, a global leader in industrial automation and technical education. With more than 14 years of experience, he specializes in digital transformation, Industry 4.0, industrial automation, and innovative learning solutions that connect academia and industry.

He holds an MBA in International Industrial Management with an emphasis on Digital Transformation from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences (Germany), along with a background in Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Process Management, and Industrial Automation. Throughout his career, he has led initiatives focused on smart manufacturing, workforce upskilling, connected education, and the adoption of advanced technologies across organizations in South America.

Sebastián works closely with universities, technical institutions, and industry partners to develop future-ready talent and strengthen the integration of education, technology, and manufacturing innovation.

Lorena Garcia

Biography: Lorena García is an Electronic Engineer from Universidad del Norte and holds a Master's degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Universidad de los Andes. She has more than 17 years of experience in teaching and academic management of engineering programs.

She currently serves as Special Advisor for ABET in Colombia and Latin America, supporting initiatives related to quality assurance and program assessment. She also serves as Executive Secretary of the Cundinamarca Section of the National Professional Council of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Related Professions.

Lorena is a Senior Member of IEEE and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the IEEE Foundation, the IEEE Educational Activities Board, and the IEEE Consumer Technology Society. She is also the founder of the Colombian Electronics and Semiconductor Network, an initiative that brings together academia, industry, and government to strengthen this strategic sector in Colombia.

Biography: Iván Fernando Mondragón Bernal is a Full Professor and Director of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with extensive experience connecting academia and industry. His work focuses on the adoption of Industry 4.0 and 5.0 technologies to drive innovation, competitiveness, and digital transformation across organizations.

He has led initiatives involving automation, robotics, computer vision, advanced analytics, and digitalization in sectors such as manufacturing and precision agriculture. Through the CTAI, he has supported companies in improving operational efficiency while fostering innovation and technological capabilities.

Professor Mondragón also promotes experiential learning environments that inspire students from diverse disciplines to engage with emerging technologies and industrial innovation. In addition, he has experience in consulting and project oversight for electrical installations and renewable energy initiatives. He is recognized for transforming advanced technologies into practical solutions that generate measurable value and business impact.

Oscar Olvera

Biography: Dr. Oscar Olvera Silva is a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico, with a Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing Technologies and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. With more than 35 years of academic and professional experience, he has focused his career on engineering education, institutional development, and university-industry collaboration. During his 29 years at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Dr. Olvera has held several leadership positions, including Director of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Director of Graduate Engineering Programs, and Regional Director of Mechanics and Advanced Materials for the Central-West Region. He also serves as National Coordinator of Mechanical Engineering.

His work has advanced curriculum innovation, laboratory development, international collaboration, and applied research partnerships, contributing to the preparation of future engineering leaders and strengthening connections between academia and industry.

Gersson Fredy Torres Baquero

Biography: Gersson Fredy Torres Baquero is a Mechanical Engineer and Standardization Projects Manager at ICONTEC, Colombia’s national standards and certification body. With more than a decade of experience, he has led the development of national and international standards for the transportation and metalworking sectors, helping organizations improve quality, safety, productivity, and innovation.

He represents Colombia in international standardization committees related to road traffic safety, road vehicles, and small craft, and has promoted technical cooperation initiatives with organizations such as ASTM International. Gersson has also strengthened connections between industry and academia through the design and delivery of courses on quality infrastructure and standardization at leading Colombian universities.

He holds an MBA from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, a specialization in Product Design and Development, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Libre de Colombia.

Biography: Dr. Marco Sanjuán is a Mechanical Engineer with a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences. With extensive experience in innovation management and technology development, he has built his career at the intersection of engineering, business strategy, and sustainable energy solutions.

As Head of Innovation at Promigas, he leads the innovation strategy for the company and its portfolio businesses in Colombia and Peru. His work focuses on identifying new growth opportunities in renewable gases and distributed generation while strengthening core operations through innovation-driven operational excellence. He has championed the use of data analytics, digital technologies, and extended reality systems to improve performance and accelerate transformation across the organization.

Dr. Sanjuán is also an author, researcher, and inventor, with patents spanning virtual sensors, biomedical systems, and energy efficiency technologies, reflecting his commitment to innovation as a driver of sustainable business growth and long-term energy development.
