Call for Doctoral Symposium Presentations

Doctoral Symposium Description

The Doctoral Symposium will be an opportunity for doctoral students who will graduate soon (within a year) or a recently graduated doctoral student to showcase their doctoral dissertation research in various advanced manufacturing research areas. The symposium will also provide universities and industrial companies an opportunity to identify excellent candidates for job openings targeting Ph.D. graduates in advanced manufacturing.

Students participating in the Doctoral Symposium will submit a two-page abstract and a 100-200 word biography with a head shot photograph by March 25, 2022. This two-page abstract and biography will be written in the conference-provided format. Due to limited time, the conference will be able to accept only 12 submissions. Accepted students will provide a 10-minute oral presentation on their doctoral research with 5 minutes for questions and answers. Submissions not accepted for the doctoral symposium will be automatically considered for a poster presentation. Authors will be notified of acceptance for the symposium presentation by March 30, 2022.

A brochure of the Doctoral Symposium can be accessed throughout the conference. Conference attendees will be encouraged to check the displayed abstracts and biography before the doctoral symposium presentation session on Day 1 of the conference.

The short abstract and a PDF document of the extended abstract (formatted according to the ASME MSEC template) must be submitted for review by March 25, 2022. Authors will be notified of acceptance by March 30, 2022.
