Title: Reshaping the Future of Energy – How Wind Will Energize a Low Carbon World
Abstract: Meeting the growing demand for affordable Energy to avoid an environmental catastrophe is the greatest challenge of our age. In this keynote speech, Juan Gutierrez will outline how Wind Energy in close symbiosis with other Energy sources are already meeting this challenge.
As Renewable Energy will double its generation share to 70% within the next 20 years, further groundbreaking technological innovations are needed. Juan will outline solutions that will support and accelerate the Renewable penetration and show how Wind Energy is harnessing innovation in integrating Hydrogen and Energy Hybrid models.
Biography: Juan P. Gutierrez is the Chief Executive Officer of the global Service Business Unit at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. He has held this position since August 2020.
Prior to his current position, Juan was the CEO of Service Americas. He came to Siemens Gamesa in early 2020 after leading the Global Marketing and Sales Operations for Power Generation Services at Siemens Energy, Inc. His focus was implementing long-term program methodologies globally, optimizing sales processes and improving marketing activities to increase hit rate and drive sales growth.
From 2008 to 2016, Juan served in various capacities in Siemens Wind Power, including Head of Latin America, Head of Global Onshore Product Lifecycle Management and Director of Business Development for the Americas Region.
Prior to 2008, he held several positions of increasing responsibility at Siemens Energy, Inc. in the Energy Solutions organization as a thermal cycle engineer.
Juan earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Rollins College.
Juan is married and loves spending time with his family. He enjoys leisure travel, playing tennis or just relaxing at the beach.

Title: Missing Links in the Green Transition of the Energy Sector
Abstract: The world is currently experiencing a positive climate action feedback loop between public policy, technology advancement, investor ,and societal preferences. Affordable solutions are needed in all parts of the world, along with energy security and sector-wide implementation. We need to start cleaning up the atmosphere.
In this plenary speech, Jacob Andersen will discuss some of the elements needed to make the transition by innovation, collaboration, and accelerated industrialization. The world craves much more renewables, much more integration, much more green fuel. We now see a clear pathway to a carbon-free energy future – Together we need to make it happen.
Biography: Jacob Nørgaard Andersen recently become Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Stiesdal, which is a climate technology company. Prior to joining Stiesdal he was Country Manager for Vattenfall Denmark as well as Head of Engineering, Offshore Wind.
Before his positions at Vattenfall Jacob was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Siemens Gamesa’s North America Onshore business and he has also been CEO of Siemens Wind Power’s Onshore Americas business.
Jacob has held various other senior position within Siemens Wind Power including head of Wind Service for the Americas region and Head of Siemens Wind Power in Canada.
Jacob started his career in Wind in 2003 where he worked on the Nysted offshore wind project in Denmark, the world’s largest offshore wind farm at that time.
