FAQs

Why Calgary?
ASME's core mission is the development of safety codes and standards for global use. A way to achieve this is to encourage involvement in different regions of the world. It has been 30 years since the B31.3 committee last met in Canada; and Alberta is a perfect location since it processes most of Canada’s oil/gas/chemicals facilities. ASME is supporting this meeting to accommodate and encourage International Users to attend and participate in ASME committee activities. Since ASME meetings are held in various locations, it will be at least 10 years before this committee returns to Calgary. So come joint us for this rare occasion to participate in committee discussions and find out how you can participate/join ASME Codes and Standards as a committee member.

If any attendee may need an Invitation Letter with your Visa application to attend this meeting in Canada, please contact ASME B31.3 Staff Secretary Riad Mohamed – mohamedr@asme.org.
