Dr. Yousof Azizi is currently serving as a Principal Engineer and a Technical Specialist at Bridgestone Americas and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Akron – School of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that he co-founded a company in the area of active noise control which was later acquired by a major US OEM. He has been active in the mobility industry for 10 years serving in various roles focusing on different areas of future and personal mobility. He is specifically interested in broad areas of nonlinear dynamics, acoustics, vibrations and noise control and their applications in the mobility industry. As a mobility system specialist and strategist, he works with different companies, government agencies and academic institutes to develop new tools and technologies to tackle future challenges in the industry. He is especially passionate and experienced working with academic institutes leading and guiding commercialization of new ideas and technologies. Before joining the industry, Dr. Azizi received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in Mechanical engineering, his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University. He has published 30+ peer reviewed papers and he owns 20+ US and International patents. He is currently serving in ASME NCAD executive committee and as ASME Structural Acoustics Technical Chair.
