Nick Klymyshyn is a mechanical engineer in the Computational Structural Mechanics Team of the Experimental and Computational Engineering Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His technical expertise is in structural mechanics and finite element analysis, which he uses to support DOE and NRC in their work related to the nuclear power industry, spent nuclear fuel storage and transportation, and energy efficient vehicle technologies. Nick is an active mentor and frequently participates in the DOE Office of Science SULI program, which brings in undergraduates for a 10-week summer internship at a national laboratory. Nick is also active in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and helps organize the yearly Pressure Vessel and Piping conference, in the topic area of storage and transportation of radioactive and other hazardous materials.
