Best Student Paper Competition at IPC
Entrants will be judged by a committee of pipeline experts selected by the IPC Organizing Committee.
WHERE: International Pipeline Conference (IPC) 2024, Calgary, AB, CA, September 23 - 27, 2024
HOW: During the draft submission process select that your paper qualifies as a student paper. A select number of finalists will be chosen from all student paper submissions to participate in the Competition.
DEADLINE: Abstract Submission deadline, December 4, 2023 (student papers share the same deadlines and formatting requirements as any technical paper at IPC).
The abstract submission deadline has passed for IPC 2024.
Competition Guidelines
- A full-length paper must be officially submitted to the IPC electronically via the web according to ASME conference guidelines.
- At least one author must be enrolled as a University Graduate or Undergraduate student in 2023 or 2024.
- While other authors may be listed on the paper, the student must have contributed the majority of the effort presented and in the writing of the paper (preferably as the first author).
- The selected finalists will be requested to provide a support letter from their supervisor.
- Finalists will be notified after acceptance of final papers have been determined through the regular IPC peer review process. Finalists will then be judged by a committee of pipeline experts selected by the IPC Organizing Committee and two winners announced.
- If chosen as a winner, the student author must commit to attend the conference and present their paper in their assigned session. All other finalists will present their paper in accordance with the usual IPC policies for any paper.
One Student Author Per Paper of the Top Two Finalists Will Receive:
- Engraved plaque and certificate from IPC 2024
- Recognition in the IPC 2024 award ceremony and social media
- Complimentary conference registration to IPC 2024
- Complimentary registration to one tutorial of choice
- Coverage of travel and accommodation cost up to 4,000 CAD, paid after the event (rules apply)
