DRIVN 2026 will feature a curated set of Special Sessions and Symposia focused on emerging and cross-cutting transportation topics, including electrification, sustainability, safety, autonomy, and supporting infrastructure. These sessions are designed to highlight areas of rapid technical development and to broaden the DRIVN program beyond traditional ICE-focused tracks.
Special Sessions serve as an incubator for future technical tracks. Successful sessions at DRIVN 2026 will be considered for expansion into full peer-reviewed paper tracks beginning with DRIVN 2027. For DRIVN 2026, all Special Session and Symposium content will be presentation-only.
If you are interested in organizing or contributing to a Special Session or Symposium, please submit a proposal or abstract to the Special Sessions and Symposia track. The deadline for Special Session proposals is the same as the general abstract submission deadline.
You should submit to the Special Sessions and Symposia track if you:
- Wish to present on a non-ICE transportation topic
- Would like to propose and help organize a Special Session on a non-ICE topic
- Would like to propose and help organize a panel discussion on a non-ICE topic
Cross-cutting topics that span multiple propulsion or technology pathways, such as life-cycle assessment (LCA) comparisons of passenger vehicles, are also encouraged and may include ICE alongside electrified or alternative technologies.
