Conference: March 3 – 4, 2020
Tuesday, March 3 8:35 - 10:04 am
Advanced manufacturing is creating new opportunities for the repair and manufacturing of parts for gas turbines in both power generation and propulsion applications. These opportunities can only be realized and implemented as a viable business case when the value proposition is satisfied in terms of cost, performance and time to market. Cleary each of these terms will have a number of sub-elements that need to be considered when assessing the value proposition. Consideration of these sub elements applies to all advanced manufacturing processes including additive type processes, coatings, welding, casting, test article development, quality assurance diagnostics, instrumentation, supply chain, etc.
Panel participants will present their latest perspectives on the R&D opportunities and challenges associated with AMRGT. Following the presentations sufficient time will be provided for discussion and Q&A.
