ASME will hold open help center calls to offer on the spot technical support for the new tool.
PLEASE NOTE: ASME has not engaged any housing bureaus to represent or sell FEDSM hotel guest room blocks. Please make your hotel reservations directly through the FEDSM hotel links.
ASME is monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation to ensure the health and safety of our meeting and conference participants, as well as our staff. We will also be monitoring the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as the situation progresses.
As of this date, the conference is currently scheduled to take place. Please continue your work in the expectation that the conference will occur. All dates in the current Publications Schedule will be followed. Should it be determined that the conference may need to be postponed, cancelled, or held virtually instead of in-person for the health and safety of all, ASME has committed to offering the option of publishing the papers through our usual channels. Please note that the one author per paper registration requirement will still hold should the conference be held virtually, but the presentation requirement may be waived. Should this become necessary, virtual conference registration fees will be discounted from the regular conference fee. If postponed, ASME will work with the conference organizing committee to determine whether the papers will be published at the time of the scheduled conference or delayed until the rescheduled one.
If there are any changes to these plans, we will provide updates on this website. We understand that you will have questions, so please check back periodically. Thank you.
The next update to this information is scheduled next Wednesday.
Welcome to the 2020 Fluids Engineering Division’s (FED) Summer Meeting in Orlando where FED continues to strive to meet the challenges of disseminating timely technical information by organizing technical conferences and conducting workshops and panel discussions. Every year FED organizes the Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting (FEDSM). This year FED is collaborating with the ASME Heat Transfer Division and the ASME International Conference on Nanochannels, Microchannels, and Minichannels in a four-year recurring cycle building upon prior collaborations in 2016 in Washington DC and 2012 in Puerto Rico. In 2019 FED collaborated with members in Asia and Europe and the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) and the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME) in San Francisco; prior collaborations occurred in 1999 (San Francisco), 2003 (Honolulu). 2007 (San Diego), 2011 (JSME hosted in Hamamatsu, Japan), and 2015 (KSME hosted in Seoul, South Korea). This four-year cycle stimulates not only strong FED member participation but also international collaboration, bringing the global Fluids Engineering community together. The trend is consistent with ASME’s emphasis on Globalization and the OneASME mission to strengthen the Fluids Engineering community and its impact to society as a whole. Come and join us for what is expected to be an exciting and rewarding summer meeting.

Attention Authors: The Fluids Engineering Division in cooperation with the ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering (JFE) is pleased to announce that a selection of journal quality papers identified with the conference proceedings will be included in a special issue of JFE. Authors will specifically be asked to submit their conference papers to the journal with further instructions. The special issue will appear approximately 6-8 months after the conference, and will also include the winners of the Flow Visualization Competition.
