The Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting FEDSM 2020) will be held virtually on July 13 - 15, 2020
Welcome to the 2020 Fluids Engineering Division’s (FED) Summer Meeting where FED continues to strive to meet the challenges of disseminating timely technical information by organizing technical conferences and conducting workshops and panel discussions. Every year FED organizes the Fluids Engineering Division Summer Meeting (FEDSM). This year FED is collaborating with the ASME Heat Transfer Division and the ASME International Conference on Nanochannels, Microchannels, and Minichannels in a four-year recurring cycle building upon prior collaborations in 2016 in Washington DC and 2012 in Puerto Rico. In 2019 FED collaborated with members in Asia and Europe and the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) and the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME) in San Francisco; prior collaborations occurred in 1999 (San Francisco), 2003 (Honolulu). 2007 (San Diego), 2011 (JSME hosted in Hamamatsu, Japan), and 2015 (KSME hosted in Seoul, South Korea). This four-year cycle stimulates not only strong FED member participation but also international collaboration, bringing the global Fluids Engineering community together. The trend is consistent with ASME’s emphasis on Globalization and the OneASME mission to strengthen the Fluids Engineering community and its impact to society as a whole. Come and join us for what is expected to be an exciting and rewarding summer meeting.

Attention Authors: The Fluids Engineering Division in cooperation with the ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering (JFE) is pleased to announce that a selection of journal quality papers identified with the conference proceedings will be included in a special issue of JFE. Authors will specifically be asked to submit their conference papers to the journal with further instructions. The special issue will appear approximately 6-8 months after the conference, and will also include the winners of the Flow Visualization Competition.
Please note that conference papers should not be submitted to the journal until the conclusion of the conference.
