Student Leadership Training Conference (SLTC)

The 2019 SLTC is a 2-day exclusive leadership training offered to student members, and is an opportunity for attendees to enhance their leadership and soft skills, stay involved with ASME, network with other engineering leaders and learn tips on how to manage their sections in a more efficient and effective way.

Student Design Competition (SDC) Finals
Marriott City Creek

The 2019 Student Design Competition has challenged the imagination and technical design skills of all its participants. At the Finals between 8:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday, November 9th, teams who’ve participated in an SDC held at each E-Fest this year will compete against each other in a modified, pick-and-place competition. These teams will come equipped with a strategic game-plan, robot(s) and a will to battle it out for the Championship Title.

Old Guard Presentation Competition Finals

The Old Guard Committee will hold a Finals Competition with the First and Second place winners invited from each 2019 Student E-Fest venue. An engineer, like all professionals, must possess a well-developed ability to communicate, both orally and in writing. The Old Guard Presentation Competition is designed to emphasize the value of an ability to deliver oral presentations.

This year IMECE will be hosting a networking event geared towards Undergraduate and Graduate students and Early Career Engineers looking for new opportunities. We invite you to join us for the Connect Reception and Networking event where you can find out how to get involved with ASME, celebrate as we give out awards and network with companies looking to hire engineers. Join ASME Executive Director/CEO Tom Costabile and special guests at the ASME Connect Event @ IMECE 2019. This roundtable discussion followed by Q&A will be focused around the importance of student engagement, the benefits of professional membership and collaboration. Learn more about what ASME has to offer, the future of the society, and your role in its success.

Opening Reception, Poster and People’s Choice Award Poster Competition

Join us for the Opening Reception! Meet exhibitors, network and be sure to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Voting runs through Monday at 1:00PM. Two awards will be given for the best poster during the Honors Gala on Monday night.

FutureME Mini-Talks and Networking

**Special Presentation: 2019 Old Guard Early Career Award**

Join the ASME FutureME community for an opportunity to network and hear from experienced engineers as they present short inspirational talks!

At this social event, our Mini-Talks presenters will share their personal stories and experiences in career development. Our speakers range from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and you will learn how they became successful in their fields. The Mini-Talks will offer best practices and advice that may be applicable to your own individual careers and aspirations. All Mini-Talk sessions will be followed by a Q&A session.

In addition to the Mini-Talks, you will have the opportunity to meet new people from across the globe and practice your networking skills through a fun and interactive group activity. You will also have the chance to speak one-on-one with our guests, speakers, and other experienced early career engineers and Broaden your network.

Your Network is Your Net Worth!

Cake and Ice Cream will be served. Prizes will be awarded.
