Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is a top-tier public research university and the eighth-oldest university in the United States, established in 1766. Rutgers is a member of the prestigious American Association of Universities and of the Big Ten Academic Alliance. The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers two undergraduate degrees (Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering), as well as doctoral and masters degrees at the graduate level.
