Interested in the academic job market?
Senior graduate students and postdocs, please join us for a Future Faculty poster session at SBC2025! We are organizing this event to offer a unique opportunity for trainees preparing for the academic job market to interact with faculty members attending the Summer Bioengineering Conference, including past or future search committee members and department chairs. This poster session is an ideal time to practice the presentation of a cohesive research record and compelling research plans for your future faculty role, while also highlighting your experiences and plans in the areas of funding, teaching, and service.
When will this event be held?

How to apply?
To apply, please submit a CV and a research statement outlining your vision for your future directions and how your past experiences have prepared you to make an impact in this area (2 pages maximum).

Eligibility is restricted to graduate students and postdocs who are no more than two years away from applying for faculty jobs.
Some information on the selection process:
In the event that there are more applications than can be accommodated, we will prioritize applicants based on their proximity to the stage of applying for faculty jobs, with an emphasis on facilitating participation from trainees from backgrounds that are underrepresented in faculty positions in the field. Please note that decisions on applications to the poster session are independent of any other abstracts submitted; selection for this poster session will not assist or jeopardize any other abstracts you have submitted.
