Application Process/Requirements: Authors apply during abstract submission to the ASME SMASIS conference by selecting the option to participate in the Hardware Showcase and Competition. Authors must exhibit their hardware (and optionally a poster) in person during the Hardware Showcase.

Evaluation Criteria: submissions are evaluated based on three equally weighted criteria: (1) Technical quality; (2) Impact on Field; and (3) Innovation. Nominally, the committee is composed of the three hardware showcase organizers.
