IPC has been held biennially in Calgary, AB, Canada since 2006. The event is organized by the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) through the International Pipeline Conference Foundation (IPCF). The IPCF strives to support the pipeline industry through support of research, scholarships, and other good works.
