The ASME 2020 Turbo Expo Conference (TE20) presented by IGTI was scheduled to take place in London, United Kingdom June 22 – 26, 2020. However, the current global situation related to COVID-19 prevents the face-to-face event from taking place. In response to the survey results conducted by IGTI and ASME among the Turbo Expo community, the ASME IGTI Executive Committee (EC) has decided to have Turbo Expo content delivered in virtual manner this year to give the opportunity to have the latest turbomachinery research made available in a timely manner. By doing so, the IGTI EC would like to acknowledge, among others, the tremendous amount of effort the organizers, authors and reviewers have contributed in creating the content for TE20.

In today’s rapidly-changing power and propulsion industry, there is a need to introduce and implement new technology (such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, virtual reality, rapid machining, rapid testing, and additive manufacturing) more quickly and at a lower cost.
Companies have started to explore new ways of working to become more efficient and cost-effective, and it’s important to learn from others. Turbo Expo provides researchers and industry professionals from the entire power and propulsion community with a unique platform to listen, collaborate, discuss and learn from leaders who are using new technologies to become more agile and meet current and future challenges.
Join us for the first virtual conference and exhibition for the IGTI Division. This year will include over 900 presenting authors, exhibiting professionals representing gas turbine companies ready to share their products and services, a student poster competition showcasing 40 rising turbomachinery engineers, and a ladies social bringing together the women in turbomachinery industry.

“The ASME Turbo Expo is a must-attend show for networking, for providing a technical awareness, as well as corporate visibility.”
- Allan Volponi, Retired Senior Fellow, Pratt & Whitney
“I still enjoy seeing the conversations that spontaneously occur; a student might talk to a renowned professor, a young designer at one company might meet a senior expert working at another company.”
- Patricia Cargill, Principal Engineer, GE Aviation
