Dr. Joao P. Dias is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. He earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Dr. Dias research interests range from prognostics and condition monitoring of mechanical systems, renewable energy systems, probabilistic degradation models, biomechanics, neural networks, and 3-D printing applications to safety and medical areas. He has already published 50+ research papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and advised/co-advised several graduate and undergraduate students. Dr. Dias is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
