Dr. Salman Pervaiz is an Associate Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology (Dubai Campus). Currently, he also serves as the graduate program coordinator at the Mechanical Engineering Department. He earned his PhD in Production Engineering from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, in 2015. Dr. Pervaiz is dedicated to research in material science and sustainable material processing. Specifically, his research interests span the broad areas of metal cutting of difficult-to-cut materials, processing of composite materials, 3D printing/additive manufacturing, and material process modeling using finite element analysis (FEA). He has published more than 100 research articles in well-reputed scholarly international journals and presented them at international conferences. As the Vice Chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) – UAE Section, he has conducted numerous seminars and keynotes, showcasing his expertise. Since 2019, Dr. Pervaiz has served as the topic chair and session organizer of the advanced machining topic under the Advanced Manufacturing Track at the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) Conference.
