Dr. Aditi Roy is a Senior Key Expert of the Smart Machine Vision Group at Siemens Technology. Dr. Roy received her PhD in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India, and then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at New York University, USA. She has extensive experience developing machine learning algorithms for solving vision related tasks like object recognition, tracking, scene understanding, behavior modeling, pose estimation, sensor based activity recognition, and human recognition/verification. In her academic career, she has published over 30 articles in reputed journals and conference proceedings and has 1 published and multiple applied patents. Dr. Roy's pioneering work received widespread critical acclaim from the research community and significant media attention from various parts of the world, including the New York Times, CNBC, Fortune, The Guardian, The Telegraph (UK), Press Reader (Canada), Numerama (France), ABC Technologia (Spain), DeMorgan (Belgium), Tekniikan Maailma (Finland), Placera (Sweden), Trashbox (Russia), ChinaTimes, and International Business Times (India). Dr. Roy has served as PI or Co-PI in multiple research projects totaling more than $3 million supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Energy (DOE), Manufacturing x Digital (MxD), The ARM Institute. She won the Women in IT "Rising Star" award in 2020.
