Dr. John Tencer

Dr. Tencer joined the Thermal Sciences and Engineering Department at Sandia National Laboratories in 2013 after completing his graduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Tencer's work at Sandia has included high performance computational engineering analysis and code development, thermal radiation, reduced-order modeling and machine learning, verification, validation and uncertainty quantification, experimental design and support, and accident investigations (including receiving the Secretary of Energy Achievement Award for his work with the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant Technical Assessment Team). Dr. Tencer serves on the ASME Heat Transfer Division Executive Committee and is the chair of the ASME computational heat transfer technical committee and the Sandia Thermal Working Group.
