Biography: Han Hu is an Associate Professor and Twenty-First Century Professor in Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arkansas, where he is also affiliated with the UA Power Group. He leads the NED³ Laboratory, which develops open datasets and AI software for thermal-fluid research. His work spans multiscale two-phase heat transfer, multimodal acoustic, optical, and thermal sensing, physics-aware machine learning, thermal management of high-power-density systems, and data-center energy, water, and life-cycle assessment. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and completed postdoctoral research at Purdue University. He teaches Thermodynamics and Machine Learning for Mechanical Engineers. In 2026, he received the Mechanical Engineering Outstanding Teacher Award and University of Arkansas Outstanding Mentor recognition.
